Responsibilities include:

  • Develop robust cell based approaches and technologies to establish the activity and mechanism of action of candidate therapeutics.
  • Employ state of the art cell and molecular biology tools to understand the biology of proteins of interest and validate novel therapeutic targets
  • Develop and/or execute cell assays amenable to phenotypic screens or to support drug development
  • Remain current in and critically evaluate literature to extract and present ideas and approaches for addressing experimental challenges
  • Remain an active laboratory contributor and supervise junior scientists
  • Prepare, review and deliver scientific presentations as needed

Credentials, Skills, Behaviors & Knowledge

  • PhD with postdoctoral experience (additional industrial experience a strong plus) or Master’s degree with at least 8 years industrial experience
  • Enthusiastic about discovering therapeutic drugs and contributing to the science literature
  • Command of current cell and molecular biology approaches
  • Command of a human disease relevant biology, ideally immunology, though other areas will be considered
  • Ability to collaborate in teams and work with others in a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration and organizational skills

Comfortable with changing direction and taking risks
