Executive Director, Global Marketing -

New Products & Early Commercial Development; I&I

PREREQUISITES

BA/BS required; MBA/graduate degree preferred.

The Executive Director, Global Marketing New Products and Early Commercial Development I&I, will play a critical leadership role in building the value of the overall Inflammation & Immunology franchise within Celgene by providing strategic commercial direction and leadership for the I&I pipeline, for both internal and external programs.  This person will provide commercial input on business development strategy as it relates to drug development, business development opportunities, and has accountability for the I&I competitive intelligence function.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Unlock Value through generation of unique insights by indication and phase of development across the portfolio. Serve as commercial leader and as an active member of new product teams and committees.      Clearly define and then persuasively articulate our overall new products strategy in close collaboration with R&D. Partner with opinion leaders and clinical development teams towards developing and presenting best in class development and commercialization plans for new products.  Partner closely with business development to assess external opportunities.  Contribute to commercial strategy and forecast for these opportunities and present recommendations to executive management.  Quantify trade off decisions within a total portfolio approach Partner with the research functions to ensure target value is aligned to scientific value Represent the franchise to external audiences such as partner organizations, business development targets, medical societies, and advocacy organizations Direction and oversight of I&I competitive intelligence Lead a team of three people.
 

Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • BA/BA required; life sciences degree or equivalent desirable, MBA/graduate degree preferred. 15 years or more industry experience and minimum of 5-10 years marketing experience required. Other functional experience within inflammation/dermatology strongly preferred.
  • Previous early commercial development experience preferred.
  • Previous in-line marketing experience required.
  • Individual should have proven track record demonstrating: Breadth and depth across marketing competencies and strong partnership with research and development organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading strategically, driving performance and fostering collaboration.
  • Experience in mobilizing matrix team members, regional partners, embracing teamwork and project management within a cross functional environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, with regards to market research, competitive data collection analysis, financial analysis and crystallization of key business insights.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively and efficiently drive performance are required.
  • Launch experience, inclusive of label development, a plus.
  • Must be PC literate in Microsoft Office.
