Summary/Scope
Celgene Coporation is seeking a full-time (40 hrs/week) Laboratory Technician to support animal husbandry and technical support of in vivo studies. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of rodent husbandry practices and technical proficiency in handling, dosing and tissue/blood collection to support PK studies in rats and mice.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Perform weekly husbandry of rodent animal facility including housekeeping, sanitation and trash/biohazard removal according to standard practices. Assist Animal Facility Manager in maintaining records and ordering lab supplies. Proficiency in animal restraint, dosing and blood collection of mice and rats. Basic understanding of dose formulation calculations. Available for weekend rotation of facility checks and dosing.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
Functional/Scientific/Technical Skills:
• Knowledge & demonstration of rodent husbandry.
• Generally independent in carrying out husbandry operations.
• Understanding of basic math to perform dose formulation calculations
Discretion/Latitude:
• Works independently for husbandry, but under supervision or in collaboration with Research Associates for in vivo studies
